Hipshot Products Grip-Lock Tuning Machines Reviews 5

The Hipshot Grip-Lock Locking Tuners I reviewed were in a gold finish and installed on a 3+3 headstock. I've been studying guitar for 32 years. I'm a professional guitar instructor and like to play a variety of styles and I've been an endorsed player for over 5 years. I also enjoy performing with my band: 3 Hour Tour.

I purchased these tuners from Hipshot directly. They sell for $16.65 USD each. My review is based on this exact model tuner installed on my Minarik Lotus.

The Grip-Lock Tuner makes tuning a guitar a breeze. Turning the thumb screw locks the string in the post and you can begin tuning up to pitch. The gear ratio is rated at 18:1 and I certainly noticed this while tuning my guitar. The motion was like butter as I turned the tuning button and I found no slipping or pinging while tuning with these machines in the past 3 weeks. Installation was also very easy as it took me only about 45 minutes. A small hole needs to be drilled to fit them in place which is very easy to do.

This tuner has everything going for it and I can't think of anything that could improve it's function.

The Grip-Lock tuners are tight, smooth and have an overall richness to them. The open gear gives them a sense of class and amplifies its aesthetics. The machine work on these tuners, like all Hipshot products, is top-shelf.

If you like quick string changes, stable tuning and a sense of quality to the touch as you tune your guitar - you owe it to yourself to check out Hipshot Grip-Lock Locking Tuners. I'm glad I made this choice.
